Intinerary
This astonishing journey will introduce you to Istanbul, a vibrant city where east meets west, as well as Cappadocia, one of the mustsee places in the world. Discover spectacular natural wonders and the unique historical and cultural heritage of the Cappadocia region where distinctive houses, churches and monasteries have been carved into ancient rock formations. Beneath Cappadocia is equally intriguing with its ancient underground cities. Enjoy discovering this exceptional creation of Mother Nature.
Day 1: Istanbul Arrive in Istanbul and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. The city’s combination of long history and spectacular setting spread over seven hills and surrounded on three sides by water makes it a particularly rewarding place to explore.
Day 2: Istanbul Explore the city’s historical sites. Join a tour to visit Topkapi Palace – a maze of buildings from Ottoman times; the Blue Mosque – notable for its six exquisitely slender minarets and cascade of domes; the Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye Mosque and the Grand Bazaar where amongst the maze of narrow cobbled streets thousands of small shops offer an unbelievable choice of goods.
Day 3: Istanbul Take a cruise on the Bosphorus for magnificent views of the city. Following your cruise visit Rumeli Fortress, Dolmabahce Palace and the Spice Bazaar.
Day 4: Istanbul – Cappadocia Take a domestic flight to Nevsehir Airport. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 5: Cappadocia This morning visit Göreme open-air museum, which resembles a vast monastic complex composed of scores of refectory monasteries placed side-by-side, each with its own fantastic church. It represents the finest of the rock-cut churches, with beautiful frescoes whose colours still retain all their original freshness. Continue your visit to Devrent Valley, Pasabag Valley, Avanos and Uchisar.
Day 6: Cappadocia On the following day explore Kaymakli underground city – the largest underground city in Cappadocia; Cavusin Village – a quaint and picturesque village which houses the abandoned ‘old’ village, all carved into the hillside and Ortahisar Village housing the jagged castle with the biggest fairy chimney in the Cappadocia region.
Day 7: Cappadocia – Istanbul After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul and then your international return flight.
